Google Ads has no fixed price list. On the same day, in the same city, a restaurant pays a few lira per click while a law firm can pay more than ₺50 for the same click. So the right answer to "how much do Google ads cost?" isn't a number but a calculation. This guide covers 2026 data for Turkey, the surcharge added to the invoice, and how to work out your budget backwards from your target number of customers.
How Is the Cost of Google Ads Made Up?
In search ads you pay for clicks, not exposure. The auction sets the cost per click (CPC): the more advertisers bid on the same keyword, the higher the price. Your monthly invoice has three lines:
- Ad spend: number of clicks × actual CPC.
- Regulatory operating cost: in some countries Google adds a separate surcharge to the invoice for ads shown there. Check the current rate for Turkey in Google's official explanation and on your account's invoice. The 7% rate below is only an example assumption for the calculation; it is not the current tariff.
- Agency or management fee (if any): paid to whoever manages the account, not to Google. We explain the models in our 2026 agency pricing guide.
How Much Does Google Ads Cost in Turkey in 2026? Why Do the Numbers Disagree?
Public data gives very different numbers:
- What it says
- Search Network average CPC ₺5.20; average conversion rate 3.4%; average cost per acquisition ₺245
- What it says
- Cost per click in Turkey has exceeded US$0.65
- What it says
- Restaurant ₺2–3, law firm ₺50 and above
| Source | What it says |
|---|---|
| Bravery Technology, Q1 2026 | Search Network average CPC ₺5.20; average conversion rate 3.4%; average cost per acquisition ₺245 |
| Competition report published in Ekonomim | Cost per click in Turkey has exceeded US$0.65 |
| Bravery Technology, industry examples | Restaurant ₺2–3, law firm ₺50 and above |
These figures are estimates from the named third-party sources; they are not independently verified industry averages or a promise of results.
It's normal for the numbers not to match: the "average" includes millions of cheap-click e-commerce and local searches. In high-value services such as consultancy, healthcare, education or law, the real CPC can be several times the average. The most reliable way to learn your own industry's CPC is to check the bid ranges in Google Ads Keyword Planner or run a small test campaign for a few weeks.
What Determines Cost Per Click?
- Search intent: in Google's own example, a search with purchase intent can be more expensive than an informational one. "Italy university consultancy" is more expensive than "how to study in Italy".
- Ad and page quality: according to Google, highly relevant ads and useful landing pages can lower the actual CPC you pay.
- Bid strategy: as Google notes, "Maximise clicks" can bring a lower CPC, while "Maximise conversions" can come with a higher CPC but a better return.
- Location, time and device: Istanbul-centred targeting, office hours and desktop are generally more competitive.
- Competitors: a big player opening campaigns in your industry can push up all click prices overnight.
Work Out the Budget Backwards From Target Customers
Instead of "how much should I spend a month?", start with "how many new customers do I want a month?". For that you need four rates:
- Set your target number of new customers per month.
- Divide by your appointment-to-sale rate to find the appointments you need.
- Divide by your lead-to-appointment rate to find the leads you need.
- Divide by your landing page conversion rate to find the clicks you need.
- Multiply the clicks by your estimated CPC, then add the surcharge rate that applies to your account.
Example calculation — assumptions vary by business
- Target
- 10 new customers a month
- Appointment to sale 30%
- 10 / 0.30 ≈ 33.33 appointments
- Lead to appointment 40%
- 33.33 / 0.40 ≈ 83.33 leads
- Page conversion rate 5%
- 83.33 / 0.05 ≈ 1,666.67 clicks
- Estimated CPC ₺25
- About ₺41,667 ad spend
- Hypothetical 7% surcharge
- About ₺2,917
- Total
- About ₺44,583 / month
Intermediate steps are not rounded; only the values shown are. 7% is not a claim about the current tariff. Agency fees and other taxes are not included in this example.
In this hypothetical scenario, cost per lead is about ₺500 and cost per new customer (including the hypothetical surcharge) about ₺4,458. Sale value alone isn't enough to judge profitability; include your service cost, the agency fee and your margin.
Note: the most sensitive rate in the calculation is usually on the sales side, not the ads. Slow follow-up that drops lead-to-appointment from 40% to 20% doubles the budget needed for the same target.
What Should the Minimum Budget Be?
Google's algorithm needs data to learn. A common rule of thumb is that a campaign should have enough budget for at least 10–15 clicks a day. If your CPC is ₺25, that's ₺250–375 a day, or about ₺7,600–11,400 a month.
Google can also spend up to twice your average daily budget on busy search days; the monthly total won't exceed your daily budget multiplied by the average number of days in a month. So "why did it overspend today?" is usually normal.
At Next Lvl we work with consultancies and premium service businesses on a monthly ad budget of at least ₺20,000; with lower budgets we recommend starting with local SEO and your Google Business Profile.
5 Ways to Lower the Cost
- Read the search terms report weekly; add searches with no intent, such as "free", "what is" or "salary", as negative keywords.
- Clean up conversion tracking: count real form and appointment conversions, not page views. If Google optimises on the wrong signal, CPC and cost per lead inflate.
- Repeat the ad's promise on the landing page; as relevance rises, the actual CPC falls.
- Separate brand traffic in Performance Max; don't overpay for brand searches that bring no new customers.
- Call leads in the first minutes. The biggest waste of an expensive click is a form nobody calls.
